Campers
Camp Barnabas exists to offer joy, excitement and a relationship with Jesus to some very special people - children and adults that have challenges: physical, medical or developmental, and to their siblings. Family members who have not only observed the struggles of a brother or sister with a disability, but also have often set aside their own dreams to be caregiver and friend.
Camp Barnabas invites this diverse group to come to the outdoors and experience a life that does not exist outside our gates. It has been described by many as a little piece of heaven. And heaven on earth it is! Here at camp you see people come together to honor others as God created them - something like what I believe will take place in heaven.
No one is different at Camp Barnabas. Regardless of their race, religion or disability - all are equal - and are seen as God's children. Just as it will be in heaven, nothing is impossible at Camp Barnabas. If a child without legs wants to climb the ropes course, so be it. If a person who his paralyzed wants to rappel - we make that happen, too. The attitude is simple, "I can do ALL things through Christ." And that attitude, and a little adaption, allows children to do things they never dreamed possible.
